Established in 1985, this rug retailer sells wholesale hand-knotted rugs imported from various countries throughout Asia. As one of the few retail stores in the U.S. that imports all inventory directly, the company is able to sell higher-quality, more unique products at better margins than its competitors. The current owner has developed great relationships with suppliers and established a stellar reputation locally, nationally and overseas.
The company offers traditional, transitional, contemporary, tribal, Tibet and bombax rugs. Staff members help customers select the perfect rug for their room, taste and budget. Other services include cleaning, repair, rug pads and appraisals. About half of their customers are repeat customers, and their customer base consists of 60 percent from just ten zip codes in Salt Lake County, 20 percent from Park City, 15 percent from Utah/Davis/Washington Counties, and 5 percent from out of state. Over 6,000 customers are included on a mailing list in development since the company’s founding.
The facility includes 6,600 square feet of retail space, 2,770 square feet of mezzanine, and 8,160 square feet of warehouse space in a beautiful, stand-alone location in the Salt Lake Valley. The current owner is keeping the real estate and is willing to include a long-term lease at below market rent as part of the sale.
