As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of pavement sealer and sealcoat, the company operates from a three-acre facility that includes a production area, showroom and warehouse. Stocked with equipment, tools, products and accessories for seal coating, striping and crack sealing, they have everything needed to maintain asphalt parking lots, driveways and roads.
The business services all but three of the sport court contractors in the State of Utah (roughly 90 percent) and is the only DIY sport court maintenance supplier in Utah. Their customers include both contractors and consumers in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.
Due to the seasonality of the need for pavement sealcoat services, peak cash flow, income and profitability occurs from mid-May to the end of August.
The company has produced over 640,000 gallons of seal coat (volume has increased annually since inception), and they currently have a 21–25 percent market share. One competitor has closed its business, and another competitor stopped selling sealcoats since the company commenced business in 2016. With limited competition and a push to control market volume, the business can immediately increase pricing — surrounding territories all charge more for materials — and see a quick return.
