QME Services P/L situated in Brendale, Queensland established in 1996 has expanded gradually over the years to where it is today. They have built a client base that they are extremely proud of and committed to during this time. The business has enjoyed several long-term relationships in this industry, demonstrating a desire to provide customers with the service and quality they expect. Wherever possible QME Services gives preference to Australian made goods and raw materials in the
manufacture of products.
The business supply both original equipment and aftermarket products and services to manufacturers and retailers predominately in the automotive and reticulated vehicle industries. The business is capable of designing, developing, and manufacturing client’s products from inception as well as assisting customers to protect their intellectual property through patents or registered design. The Mechanical Designers using Solid Works take the customer's idea and produce a 3D functional working
model within the drawing program. During this process, customers are consulted and encouraged to participate in the development of their product to ensure the product is precisely what they wanted, and in most cases unique to their business. Once approved for production the product is broken down into its individual parts and component drawing files are sent to the Laser Programmer to be nested and from there to the three-kilowatt optical fiber laser for cutting. Once components are cut,
they then move through the factory for further processing which includes folding, welding assembly, riveting assembly, and in some products the provision of nut inserts.
With a four-meter 160 tone press brake and 2.5-meter 100 tone press brake and an extensive range of tooling for both, there are very few restrictions on what can and can’t be folded in sheet and light to the medium plate.
The welding processes include MIG, Pulse MIG, TIG, and Pulse TIG. Welded materials include mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Occasionally they weld brass and cast iron. The CNC tube bender which can bend and roll tube in a single programmed cycle is often engaged in medium to high volume bending runs. The business has produced numerous tubular headboards for
utility and truck trays in both circular and square tubes. Other items put through tube bender include handrails, bull bar and side rail components for four-wheel-drive vehicles, rollover protection system bars, and furniture items to name a few. The tooling covers all round tube sizes from 16mm OD up to 76mm OD, and square tube sizes in 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm.
