Scratch bakery and cafe with a great reputation in the community. Located in the northern part of York County, south of Portland, within 15 minutes of Southern Maine beaches - which attracts additional business from summer visitors to the area.

We make cakes, pies, small pastries, and croissants. We also make light meals and sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. Espresso service. Small seating area for dine-in customers.

Owner operated by two owners with no additional employees. We open the store for four hours a day and spend an additional four to five hours a day for prep and other work. We are usually done by 2pm - which is great if you have kids at school (school bus comes right past the building).

Use of (but not ownership of) proprietary bakery management software system is included. Staff and customers order online and orders drive kitchen work. There is also a limited planning function for seasonal events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc). Buyer would be responsible for server charges - about $50 per month, plus some annual charges for domain registration, etc.

Real estate includes three bedroom (1900 sq ft) rental apartment above the bakery which is available for rent to the buyer, if desired. Negotiations for purchase of real estate at a later date is an option.

Expansion Potential:

Currently we only operate the store for four hours a day to allow us to manage the business between the two of us with no outside help.

We used to operate for more hours, but that required additional staff. We also used to operate seven days a week - but once again needed more staff.

Competition / Market:

There are other cafes and/or small bakeries in the area but most have not survived more than a year or two. There are some new startups but it is too early to say how they will fare.

Support & training:
