For over 8 years, Greg and Mary Anderson have been the owners of Minuteman Press in Castle Rock, CO. As a result of their hard work and dedication, Greg and Mary were awarded the 2024 Small Business of the Year Award from the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. Minuteman Press is located at 1263 Park Street, Suite B, Castle Rock, CO 80109.

Greg shares, “The Business of the Year Award ‘recognizes a business who have competitively positioned their business in the marketplace; demonstrating strong financial performance in their industry; has successfully managed the growth of their company; has utilized innovative or creative business methods in response to times of adversity and has a strong commitment to the betterment of the Castle Rock Community.’ It is an honor to be recognized by our peers for our community involvement and our dedication to providing high quality products to other businesses.”

On Feb. 17, 2024, Greg and Mary attended the awards dinner at Cielo at Castle Pines and were presented with the award by Stacy Garmon, CEO of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. Mary says, “It is extremely important to us to be active in our community.  I am the outgoing Chairwoman of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and will be the Chairwoman of the Castle Rock Chamber Foundation.  Greg is on the Castle Pines Chamber Board, led the effort to secure dedicated funding for roads in Castle Pines, and is  on the Committee for Excellence to better the City of Castle Pines.”

Keys to Growth

Greg and Mary share the following keys to growth that have helped them build the award-winning Minuteman Press franchise to where it is today:

Greg adds, “Booklets, business cards and banners/signs are high-demand items. A key growth area for us has been mailings for businesses, government entities and local schools.”

Greg further highlights the value of printing for the clients of Minuteman Press in Castle Rock. He says, “Both online and print marketing have their place and should work together to create robust target marketing campaigns. Printing is great to educate, inform and create ‘top of mind’ awareness and brand retention for clients when they do have a need for your products and services. Print materials are not easily deleted and they can drive increased website and walk-in traffic as well.”

Support & Advice

Prior to joining Minuteman Press, Mary shares, “Greg ran worldwide marketing for a software company and I was a Regional VP for a large insurance carrier.  There were a number of reasons why we chose Minuteman including the local support provided by the company, the capped royalty, and the flexibility in running our own company.”

She continues, “The ongoing support from Minuteman Press has been key for us.  From the help provided when we opened, to helping us with questions and new hires, our Regional VP Jack Panzer and the entire staff  have always been there for us.”

Greg and Mary offer one piece of advice to other owners, saying, “Get involved in networking groups and be active in your community. Other local businesses are the backbone of our community and our client base, and it is important to work hard and show you care.”
