Appliance Control Board Business High Margins Low Competition For Sale

US
Asking Price:
$165,500
Sales Revenue:
$116,583
Cash Flow:
$110,281

In short, the business is made up of refurbishing Major Home Appliance Control Boards. These are the onboard computers that run your washing machine, your refrigerator, your dryer and all the rest of your Major Home Appliances. The first part of the business is online training for people to repair boards in their local area. The second part of the business is the ability to obtain boards to refurbish and sell online via eBay, Amazon and Shopify

The business can be worked from home or a small office or workshop. It can be located anywhere in the United States, Canada or Mexico. The first part of the business, online training for people to repair boards in their local area can be worked fully remotely from anywhere on the planet.

MARGINS: Margins on the training side of the business are consistently in excess of 90% and on the e-commerce side of the business, eBay, Amazon and Shopify, margins are around 75%.

COMPETITION: This Market has almost zero competition and is very scalable on both sides of the business. There is pretty much zero chance of any Market saturation and the Appliance Repair Business is increasing in volume year over year and will increase even further as retail sales of new appliances are down in double digits. This means people are keeping their appliances longer and repairing them instead of replacing them and with the current economy, I don't see this changing in the long or short term.

REASON FOR SALE: We hadn't planned on selling the business anytime soon but we have a critical family situation that needs urgent and possibly long-term attention.

THE DEAL: I'm prepared to carry a portion of the purchase price as an earn-out, which could be negotiated on a one-on-one basis. Also I'm very interested in remaining active with the business in a marketing and sales capacity on a commission basis only. I'm dead serious about this. If we were able to work out a deal that works for both of us, I'm very much open to discussing it further.

THE BUSINESS: I stayed with the appliance business for well over two and a half decades. It's not the most romantic business in the world but it definitely pays the bills and keeps the lights on with plenty to spare.

Regardless of what the economy is doing, families need refrigerators, washers and dryers and their dishwashers and other appliances. I used to say to my wife, that as long as we don't see people washing their socks down at the creek, we still have a business. And that's still very true today.

Feel free to survey this one for yourself. You'll find if you ask any Appliance guy or girl what are the main failure points across all major home appliances you are going to find it's the control boards/circuit boards. 90% of the time in the industry they are referred to as Appliance Control Boards but sometimes someone says Appliance Circuit Board, but they are talking about the same part.

I did a search on ChatGPT and it turns out that just in the United States, not including Canada, the appliance manufacturers like General Electric, Electrolux, Maytag, Whirlpool and so forth sell over $700 million a year in replacement control boards for appliances that they originally sold new.

I have worked alongside these companies for decades and I promise you this, they are never going to give up that revenue. That's approaching a billion dollars a year.

For the American manufacturers most of the Control Boards are made in Monterey Mexico and brought into the United States. When the tariffs came along the American manufacturers increased their prices accordingly and now the tariffs are starting to subside they conveniently haven't lowered them, and they won't either. So we are one industry where the tariffs actually helped us simply because it increased the retail price of new boards which means with us selling boards between 50% and 70% of retail, that means our profits just increased also.
