About the Company &
Founders

In the early 1980's, PostNet's co-founders Steven Greenbaum, President and CEO, and Brian Spindel, Executive
Vice President and COO,
entered the mail and parcel industry in their early 20's; many
years before consumers would come to know the concept and its
benefits. After successfully owning and operating a number of
stores themselves, Greenbaum and Spindel decided to form an
independent development and consulting firm and assist others in
owning and operating their own businesses.
From 1985 to 1991, Greenbaum and Spindel led Consolidated Services
Corporation (COSERCO) to the development of over 400 independent
mail and parcel centers throughout the U.S. including locations in
Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Interestingly enough, Greenbaum and
Spindel chose not to franchise in their early days. Their concept
was simple. Working from an established core of basic products and
services, they leveraged the experience and background of the owner
operator with the location, marketing message and brand to create a
unique product and servicing offering catering to consumer needs in
a particular market.
In the late 1980's in the United
States, certain events in the mail and parcel industry including
their existing client's strong desire to obtain the benefits of
strength in numbers and a shared brand, prompted PostNet's founders
to explore methods of uniting their independent group. After fully
evaluating a number of different approaches, Greenbaum and Spindel
chose franchising and over the next fewyears, developed the PostNet
systemand trademarks with a
global vision for the future. The PostNet system is unique in the
fact that it embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and many years of
experience of its founders within a solid and time tested business
model.
PostNet's franchise program was launched
in July of 1993, initially to a select group of clients that chose
toconvert their independent businesses to the PostNet brand, and
ultimately to the general public immediately thereafter. Since the
company's inception, PostNet has grown by approximately 100 centers
per year to over 850 locations worldwide.
A significant factor in PostNet's success has been the company and
itsmanagement's ability to
adapt and react to changes in the marketplace, competition, and
technology. PostNet has continually led the industry in innovative
solutions utilizing technology to support point-of-sale operations,
franchise system management, and the development of new services
and products. Another important aspect of the company's
successis its commitment to
core values of integrity and trust and unique ability to encourage,
empower, and inspire franchisees to actively participate in the
organization.
The PostNet
Concept
PostNet is a highly specialized service/convenience retail concept
that caters to consumers from all walks of life. In its humble
beginnings in the U.S., the concept served the general consumer and
occasional business person needing access to fundamental business
equipment. However, over time, the PostNet concept and system has
continually evolved to meet the growing needs of small to medium
sized businesses, traveling or regional business people, and of
course, the general consumer.
The PostNet Franchise can be broken down into four distinct
areas:
Copy/Print/Document Services - Unlike traditional copy/print shops,
PostNet centers are digitally enabled and ready to serve demanding
consumers needs. PostNet centers can scan, copy, or print just
about anything and are fully equipped to receive digital files for
output in short runs or volume quantities. PostNet also offers a
broad range of output options including black and white, color, and
large format and provides a host of finishing services to
professionally complete any project.
- Post/Courier/Associated
Products & Services - PostNet centers are complimentary to local
postal services offering a host of related services and products
including parcel shipping, courier, packaging services and supplies, private
mailboxes, and postal services with companies like United Parcel
Service (UPS), Federal Express (FedEx) and DHL. PostNet's post,
courier and associated products and services vary depending on the
country and local regulations.
- Computer/Communication
Services - Busy
consumers and traveling business people utilize PostNet's fully
integrated computer stations for high speed Internet access and
production of documents for output utilizing the latest Microsoft

available.
- Office Products &
Services - PostNet

along with important services such as Passport Photos, Key
Duplication, Notary Public, Recruitment Services, Bulk
Mailing.
From its humble beginnings as a basic mail and parcel business the
PostNet concept has evolved into a full service small business and
general consumer resource center.
Master Franchise
Opportunities
As a PostNet master franchisee, an
individual or company acquires the right to develop PostNet in
their respective country (territory). The ideal master franchise
candidate will have prior business or franchising experience, be
well capitalized to support the endeavour, have local resources,
and experience in personnel, real estate, financial matters,
training and education. Prior franchising experience is not a
requirement. What is essential is an ambitious entrepreneurial
spirit and a commitment to the same core values we embraced at
PostNet Headquarters. Trust, integrity, and quality are at the
forefront of those values.
Revenues are generated from the sale of franchises and royalty fees
received by the master franchisee from every store in their
territory. PostNet provides complete training to the master
franchisee in franchising as a method of doing business, site
selection and lease negotiation, store development, how to provide
training for franchisees, and how to support and develop a
franchise system. In essence, the master franchisee becomes the
franchisor for their particular country with the support and
assistance of the PostNet management team. PostNet also receives a
minority share of the revenue generated in the territory and in
turn provides on-going training, support, and operates as a
business advisor for the term of the agreement.
