This is a kiosk located in the food court of a Mall. The kiosk has been at the mall for 20 years. The seller has owned the kiosk for two years. This kiosk sells papers, candy, cigarettes, cigars and soda. They also have the lottery with keno. The lottery commission last year was $118,000. This year we projected it will be $110,000. There are 50 tables, which seat approximately 200 people, in the food court. From September 08 thru March 09 the mall was renovated, which caused sales to go down. In August 09 the kiosk was moved to the food court. This should help increase sales. It is approximately 200 square feet. There are two years left on the lease. The seller told us the landlord will give a new five year lease. The hours of operation are Monday thru Saturday 8 A.M. – 9:30 P.M. and Sunday 9 A.M. – 6 P.M. This is absentee run, so the payroll has been adjusted. The kiosk is open 90 hours per week. Two people are needed four hours a day (11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. and 5 P.M. – 7 P.M.). Total coverage hours are 118. We have put a working owner in working 60 hours. 58 hours have to be covered. We paid a wage of $12.00 per hours. 58 X $12.00 = $696.00 X 52 $36,192.00.
